It is that time of year when every non-profit lets you know how much work they have done for the community and what support they still need. I don't need to remind you of all that we do; you get enough e-mail updates about classes, demos, and exhibitions already. Something you may not know though, are our plans for the future.
We intend to reorganize the studio to create more seated working space, additional class space for members to work while classes are going on, and add a silkscreen station with washout area. We plan to increase the number of artist fellowships and hope to add a printer training fellowship. There will be a revamp of the acid room, computer lab, lunch table, and a new library of printmaking books. All of these improvements came from member suggestions and are to increase member benefits.
There are 3 really easy ways to support the workshop in 2012:
- Participate: volunteer, take a class, come in and make some prints.
- Tell a friend about the shop.
- Donate to fund: Fellowships, Studio Improvements or New Blankets for the Presses!
We know 2011 was a hard year for everyone, us included. Artists get hit hard in hard times. Any help is appreciated and every membership matters. This holiday season consider buying a print and supporting a printmaker, or sign up for a class and become a printmaker yourself. As a 501 (c)(3) public charity, donations are tax deductible to the fullest amount allowable by tax law.
You may not need art to survive, but you need it to live. Best holiday wishes to you and your families from all of us here at RBPMW and I hope that 2012 is a blessed and productive year for you all.
Thank you for your support.
