Please join us for an artist talk/demonstration of Koyori monotypes by guest artist Choichi Nishikawa. A monotype is a unique impression print made by drawing or painting on a smooth, non-absorbent surface or by inking an entire surface and then removing ink to create a subtractive image. During this talk, Nishikawa will demonstrate traditional monotyping as well as his personal technique of using Koyori strings and tissue paper to emboss and texture his prints.

Choichi Nishikawa is a visiting artist living and working in Japan. He has had numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally and is part of various collections including Watanabe Press/Pace Editions NYC, Kurobe City Museum (Japan), Municipal Museum of Art Gyor (Hungary), and more.
