September 8, 2010 EFA Project Space Summer goes out in with a bang!
The reception and open house for the Residency for NYC Arts workers was a huge success thanks to the participating artists who worked so hard, to the friends and colleagues who came to show their support, and to NADA for sponsoring the reception.

August 24, 2010 #1 of 4 Showpaper issues dedicated to 'Short-Term Deviation'
Grant Willing, Untitled (Knife/Nature I), 2010
Hot off the press! EFA Project Space and Showpaper are proud to present the first issue of Showpaper dedicated to our collaborative exhibition and event series Short Term Deviation. The image for the first issue is by Grant Willing ( www.grantwilling.com), and the layout for the publication was designed by Justin Sloane (www.justinsloane.com). This print series was curated by Jesse Hlebo for Showpaper. Keep your eye out for the physical newsprint broadsheets throughout NYC. Short-Term Deviation will open to the public on September 23.
In conjunction with Short-Term Deviation, Showpaper is running a four-part print series featuring new work from Grant Willing, Katja Mater, Arthur Ou, and Borden Capalino. With musical notation in mind as metaphorical framework, the artists were asked to respond to photos of the empty EFA Project Space— allowing these to serve as the initial ‘notation.’ Each issue is printed monochromatically in one of the four standard offset printing colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), in homage to the composition of the printed object.

August 19, 2010 For Immediate Release: Announcing 'Short-Term Deviation'
EFA Project Space announces Short-Term Deviation. Beginning mid-September, this collaboration with the print publication Showpaper, is a month-long exhibition, publication, video and music event. Bringing the spirit of Showpaper—which crossbreeds music, art and D.I.Y. culture—to full incarnation, the gallery space will be transformed into a combination artist-crafted performance space, zine library, and video screening room.
