Artist's Website

On a sunny day, I noticed a reflection of transparent colors on one of my shaped white canvases. Finding the quality of light intriguing, I began experimenting with light setups. A voided area in the dimensional canvases is the subject.

My work involves photo cutouts based on reflected light. The color relationships and  perspective are manipulated with lights, film, gels and filters. The original subject matter and scale cannot be identified. Although they are very thin, they do not interfere with depth perception. The paradoxes in the work blur the distinction between reality and image.

Form, comes into focus again as they are cut and shaped by hand. The peripheral shape and sculptural dimension are integrated at this time. They are born out of the content of the photograph.
