‘Joong Jeong Sim’, (Core of the Middle Garden), 2010, was commissioned by the Jeju Museum of Art, Jeju Island, South Korea for EFA Studio artist Patrician Leighton. The growing sculpture is sited within the inner courtyard, open to the sky, at the entrance to the museum. The form creates both a balance and tension within the architectural space, pays homage to the history of the island, and the importance of courtyard spaces in East Asian culture.
