Artist's Website

The charcoal drawings are from the series, Listening - Archetypes, Roots Weeds n Trees, for it is the sounds that a draw.
The weeds, displaced, most of the time unwanted, find themselves in the cracks of society growing, at times a menace, at a closer look they have the power to heal.
When we listen to them, their voice is ancient.
The roots again evoke the ancient voice.
The drawings are whatever one wants them to be, Root, Weed or a woman tangled in her unwanted hair.

The works is based on the principles of what is termed "Sacred Geometry," a universal language that permeates all living things. The language of Symbols and Archetypes as a form of expressing that which does not only belong to me...The circle, square and triangle, the elements, organic biomorphic forms; trees, weeds and roots are continual themes in the work.

My work is not about my individual Identity nor about a state of happiness, I seek to remember who we are...to be whole and learn how we are part o this universal language. The outward process, the practice of making, a ritual, the alchemy of preparation of materials and arriving at, is an inward journey.
"I am beholden to Nature, how it is realized, revealed, unknown and sometimes hidden within and without us. In numbers; a pattern; as line, in colour, music, and poetry "The language of the birds" an inspiration to all that I do. It is the shadows, the repetition of sounds and spaces in between that I listen to, finding a way to unfold, trying to make visual, to be and to come closer to wholeness...A journey that is not just my own...Always a process of becoming.
